Data Sources
Last updated: October 2026
When we check a website, we combine information from the sources below. No single source decides the result.
Internetstiftelsen – .se zone data
To tell when a .se domain is new, we use the zone data for .se published by Internetstiftelsen (The Swedish Internet Foundation), © The Swedish Internet Foundation, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
We have processed the data: we compare it day by day to record when each domain first appears. The "active since" dates we show are our own derived information, not Internetstiftelsen's, and only exist for domains that appeared after we started collecting.
Domain registries (RDAP)
For most other domain endings, the registration date and registrar come from the registry's public RDAP service, found through IANA's directory of registries.
The website itself
Information the shop publishes: contact details, company registration and VAT numbers, terms and return policy, payment methods, structured data, and the image it uses to present itself. We also check its DNS records, its TLS certificate and how it redirects.
Our users and our reviews
Safe/unsafe reports from users of the browser extension, and reviews by Bluffkollen. A reviewed site is marked as such.
OpenAI – image checks
Images you upload are analysed with OpenAI's models. See our privacy policy for how the images are handled.
